Calvados Boulard
Like Cognac and Armagnac, Calvados bears an internationally protected name that is reserved exclusively for spirits from the aforementioned regions. The Boulard family business was founded in 1825. The distillery is located in the centre of the Pays d’Auge region. Boulard selects 120 varieties of apples for production, the must of which ferments for one to three months. This is followed by double distillation. This is followed by slow and closely monitored ageing in oak barrels. The wine is stored for three to five years, far exceeding the legally prescribed period of one year. A fresh, fruity bouquet with a fine acidity, harmonious and well-balanced – this is what characterises this top-quality product.
