Bols Genever
Bols is the oldest still active distillery based in the Netherlands. In 1575, the Bols family began distilling liqueurs in Amsterdam. In 1664, the company expanded its area of expertise and began producing the famous Dutch spirit Genever. In November 2007, Genever was awarded AOC status (Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée – controlled designation of origin).
The heart of Bols Genever is a precious whisky-like three-stage grain distillate made from corn, wheat and rye, which the Dutch call “Moutwijn” (malt spirit). It harmonises particularly well with citrus flavours.
