Brugal Rum
The traditional Brugal company is now in its fifth generation of producing Caribbean rum according to a top-secret family recipe. Since 1888, the Brugal family has been constantly expanding its production expertise and refining the original recipe. The entire production process, from harvesting the sugar cane to distillation and rum bottling, takes place in the Dominican Republic.
Thanks to the expertise of Brugal’s Maestra Ronera, Jassil Villanueva, and the commitment of the people at Brugal, the power of tradition is still combined with progress and innovation in order to always get the best out of the raw materials, the production and the end product. This includes the high-quality sugar cane from local cultivation, the fruity, light and pure spirit, but above all the wood and double barrel ageing.
Brugal 1888 matures for up to 8 years in ex-bourbon barrels made from American oak. This is followed by a second maturation of up to 6 years in Spanish sherry casks made from European oak.
